School districts are frustrated. Over the years unfunded mandates have piled up and contributed to unsustainable budgets and strain on school finances.
A group of schools came together and decided enough is enough. We must speak out against unfunded mandates. The purpose of this coalition is solely focused to oppose unfunded mandates. It does not matter how great the policy is or isn’t. If funding is not included, we will be opposing it and kindly reminding the legislature of their legal obligation. We will not be debating any policies or bills. This is about unfunded mandates only (in Washington state).
There is no cost to join this coalition. We are not paying anyone to lobby for us or to assist us in anyway.
